Bug Description

Hello

This means: if my basket is full and I want to empty it, after doing so, the icon still indicates a full basket.

On the other way around, when it's empty and I put a file in it, the icon still indicates an empty basket.

Not critical, just ennoying!!

If you change icon themes does this affect the bug in any way?

NO: I changed from Tango to Gnome, and it's still the same.

When I fill the basket up, still looks empty

Thanks for your bug. Do you copy file from a local partition to the trash? How do you delete them? From nautilus? With the keyboard or a menu item?

Thx for your answer, here are the answers to your questions.

Even worse today w/ the latest update:

I drag and drop a folder from /home/gerard (it's me!!) to the trash, and all the icons of the Desktop disappear (including the trash).
To get them back, I need to logout/login again

Other way of doing it (w/ the same folder, same place):
1-right click on the folder, then erase (=trash icon on the pulldown menu). The folder jumps into the basket, I checked it by opening the trash BUT the tash icon did not change its status, looks empty.
2-select the folder, depress the delete key: same result

To answer your question, I do not use Nautilus on Xubuntu, Thunar only which is quite good

I forgot to say in the tittle that this occurs on Xubuntu, not Ubuntu.

New point (see the screenshot). The trashcan is not updated on the Desktop but is OK in the file manager. Look at the icons, they are different???!!

I subscribed the Xubuntu team, maybe they can bring some light into the problem.

the latest upload of xfdesktop (minutes ago) should fix this, if indeed you are using xubuntu as the screenshot reveals. It is important to specify what you use when reporting bugs, after all there are other derivatives in the Xubuntu family that you may have heard of, namely Ubuntu, Kubuntu and Edubuntu ;)
