Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome

After doing a fresh install of Ubuntu 10.10, the CPU applets fail to show the text of the speed the CPUs are going. This is important to me as my laptop lives to heat up and cut off when I can not see the Mhz or Ghz it is going. If you need any information I will gladly give it to you.

Sorry I am a new Ubuntu member :S

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we can't fix it because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures.
At a minimum, we need:
1. The name of the CPU applet(s) you tried. I am guessing you are talking about the panel applets -- in this case, alt-click on the icon, and select "About".
Thanks!

When reporting bugs in the future please use apport, either via the appropriate application's "Help -> Report a Problem" menu or using 'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.

I didn't understand the stuff on the website link you gave me, it sounded more for people who try to sort it out.

I will give other information about the Laptop I am using which may help and the Kernel I am using

AMD Turion x2 64
2GB RAM
Nvidia 8200M

Gnome 2.32.0
2.6.35-22-generic #34-Ubuntu SMP Sun Oct 10 09:24:00 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux

If there is anything else you need please ask :)

Denva, I change the graphics/text options by right-clicking in the icon, selecting "Preferences" from the top of the menu and changing the "Display Settings". The text is also available by hovering over the icon. Do these methods work for you?
