Bug Description

Gaim crashed for me. Attaching information. I did:

1. Add a new jabber account
2. failed to log in
3. clicked on the checkbutton next to the account in the account list to disable it for now

I have this same issue too (gaim fails to connect to jabber, and it crashes when I disable the account).

I'm using gaim 2.0.0beta3, installed on Dapper from packages by seb128 , found them in the ubuntu help wiki

here's the crash backtrace, as instructed by the gnome help documentation.

That upload fixes the issue:

 gaim (1:2.0.0+beta5-1ubuntu1) feisty; urgency=low

   * Sync with Debian
   * debian/control:
     - Build-Depends on libxext-dev, liblaunchpad-integration-dev, intltool
     - don't Build-Depends on libavahi-compat-howl-dev
   * debian/patches/01_lpi.patch,
     debian/patches/02_autoconf.patch:
     - launchpad integration patches.
   * debian/patches/04_let_crasher_for_apport.patch:
     - don't catch crashes, apport does that.
     - fixes apport having broken backtraces for gaim
   * debian/patches/99_default_to_irc_ubuntu_com.patch:
     - set default irc server to irc.ubuntu.com
   * debian/prefs.xml:
     - set the notify by default (Ubuntu: #13389)
   * debian/rules
     - Add translation domain to desktop file.
     - call intltool-update to build the .pot

Depending of what the fix is. It's fixed on feisty by the new version, if you isolate the patch fixing that bug we can backport it probably. Not easy to figure what patch fixes the bug for people not having that problem though
