Bug Description

When taking screenshots of windows on Ubuntu 10.10 (visual effects activated/compiz, Radiance theme activated) the corners of windows are opaque and not transparent.

Generating transparent corners is not possible when using compiz. If you are using compiz please try to switch to an alternative window manager, e.g. metacity (disable desktop effects).

It's a technical limitation. Metacity uses the XSHAPE extension ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shape_extension ) to create non-rectangular windows and compiz uses compositing. It's easy to determine the shape in the first case but impossible to do
this when compositing is used.

All screenshot taking apps (gnome-screenshot, ksnapshot etc.) behave in the same way here. I am sorry for the inconvenience.

Could there be a plug-in that just 'rounds' the image by making the pixels transparent that could be activated by default?
Having to switch the window manager just to take screenshots is a big annoyance.

There is a new option: "Force rounded window corners". The parameters can be changed via config file. Have a look at the option's tooltip for further instructions.
