Bug Description
Binary package hint: ubiquity
In informal user testing of Ubiquity (i.e. looking over the shoulders of people installing Ubuntu), two out of two people have got stuck on the point where Ubuntu begins copying files.
Neither of them realized that it was possible to select the timezone, and answer further questions, while the copying was in progress.
Both of them thought the installer had slowed to a stop at the point where the progress bar is at about 80% and the text above it says "Ready when you are." With the second, we didn't actually realize she was installing Ubuntu, until she said "It’s been at this point for two hours now, I think it’s stuck."
There are several ways this problem could be solved.
* Return to the pre-Maverick behavior of starting the copying only once all the questions are answered.
* Begin the copying immediately, but hide its progress completely until all the questions are answered.
* Put the progress at the top instead of the bottom, and have some sort of explanatory prompt above the rest, e.g. "While we’re doing that…"
* Maybe other ways.
This bug was fixed in the package ubiquity - 2.9.17

* Don't display "Ready when you are..." when the installer isn't actually
waiting for user actions.
* When waiting for user actions, just hide the progress bar and associated

confusion associated with a progress bar being displayed when the system
is in fact waiting for user input (LP: #670409, #925427).
