Steps to reproduce the crash:
1. double clice on the text file attached
2. when it asks whether to display or to execute, click display
3. gedit takes some time

Expected Results:
and the it crashes

How often does this happen?
it happened twice to me

Thanks for your bug. Could you get a debug backtrace (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash) of the issue?
