Bug Description

Binary package hint: unity

The fifth time I start a pinned launcher within a session, it only blinks but doesn't start the application. The quicklist then shows it as not being pinned, and trying to pin it again fails. Manually starting the program creates a new launcher icon (see screenshot).

It also appears that the "dead" launchers then start to start different programs or focus running applications instead.

Maybe this is somehow related to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/appmenu-gtk/+bug/628983 (same weirdness-factor at least).

That's because you have the unity trial and pay 200 000$ to upgrade…

Oh wait! no, that's a bug :)
More seriously, confirmed, thanks for catching it :)

Reproducible on a second machine after doing upgrades (updated a day ago). Got bamf, nux, dee, and compiz updates, Unity version seems to be the same though (3.2.2-0ubuntu1).

Happens for me too :/ Looks like the launcher get's stuck into a SN loop with it just throbbing until the timeout ,but even after that nothing happens!
