Bug Description

Binary package hint: libpoe-component-client-http-perl

The libpoe-component-client-http-perl package FTBFS in lucid.

While investigating and trying to rebuild it, I found that a whole list of perl packages related to this one FTBFS.

libpoe-component-client-http-perl depends on libpoe-component-client-keepalive-perl which FTBFS
libpoe-component-client-keepalive-perl depends on libpoe-component-client-dns-perl which FTBFS

libpoe-component-client-dns-perl builds in a recent Lucid pbuilder, so I'll upload it to -proposed and see if the next step works, until this bug is fixed.

Accepted libpoe-component-client-dns-perl into lucid-proposed, the package will build now and be available in a few hours. Please test and give feedback here. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Thank you in advance!

Thank you Steve. I've tested the package, it works fine. Can you now accept libpoe-component-client-keepalive-perl so it can build on top of libpoe-component-client-dns-perl?

Thanks Steve. I've tested the deb generated by the build (it's still in the NEW queue) and it works fine. As soon as the binary package is approved, libpoe-component-client-http-perl can be pushed, too.

Now there's probably quite a few other packages that FTBFS because of these, maybe it would be worth it to find them and get them rebuilt, too, at least for the packages that were successfully built in karmic.

Ok, I did a quick search for packages that build-depended on these 3 in Lucid (and hence must FTBFS, too). Here are the results:

libpoe-component-irc-perl build-depends on libpoe-component-client-dns-perl ;
libpoe-component-server-simplehttp-perl build-depends on libpoe-component-client-http-perl.

Both seem to have built before libpoe-component-client-dns-perl went FTBFS and are OK, so I think this bug can be closed once the 3 affected packages are successfully rebuilt.

Great. libpoe-component-client-http-perl is now built and in the NEW queue for Lucid. After it's accepted, the 3 packages will be in lucid-proposed. What's the next step to get them to -updates?

I've tested the packages in lucid-proposed, they work perfectly. Please sync them to lucid-updates.
