Bug Description
Binary package hint: evolution
After upgrading from dapper to edgy, I have no chance to fetch mails via pop using tls-authentific
There is no problem with imap. Sending the password unencrypted does also work. I don't know about pop/ssl.
When I try to connect to the pop-server this error is displayed: 'Failed to connect to POP server pop.gmx.net in secure mode: STLS not supported by server'
But it is supported, as I can see using Dapper.
By the way, pop.gmx.net is the only server I have tested.
There is no further output to the console.
Just to know: I'm using kubuntu.

previous version of evolution used to do fallback on non-TLS mode if the server was not supporting it, that might be why it worked. Does it work if you pick an another authentification mode for that account?
