Bug Description

Implement launcher auto-scroll

Description:

If the Launcher is folded, when the cursor reaches the last bottom pixel of the Launcher, the Launcher should start to auto-scroll. The auto-scroll should be progressive, e.g. when the cursor reaches the bottom pixel the Launcher should start to auto-scroll slowly, but if the user tries to move the cursor further down past the bottom pixel the speed of the scroll should increase.

This behaviour has been prototyped in Unity2D and works well. Resolving this bug makes the two versions of Unity consistent.

On edge-scroll, I really want to get past the current "scroll at a fixed
pace" to "edge pushing" where the extent of scrolling is determined by
the distance your mouse WOULD have travelled if it were not up against
the edge. That's much more controlled by the user than auto-scrolling.

Can you please check for pre-existing bug reports before filing new ones? You can change the pre-existing ones to match the title/description you need, but it means we don't need to do the milestoning/assignment twice.

Mark, that would the problem of scrolling down, but how would scrolling back up work? Pushing past the Ubuntu symbol at the top?

I believe this behavior have regressed since the launcher does not autoscroll.

Moved back to triaged because tested today with latest version of Unity and the launcher doesn't auto-scroll.

This seems to be implemented only if the user is dragging something. The launcher should be auto-scrolling also if the user is just looking for a tile to launch.

In order to re-enable auto-scroll, Didier needs to assess code he added to keynav that may impact the feature.
