Sorry I can't help more but I've found some similar logs to your var log installer syslog.

I see no reason to think bug 67494 is related.

But I will write an email to Colin to suggest that this bug, and
bugs 66142 48616 58001 54441 55106 69047 69696(that have attachments) all be marked as duplicate of bug 55318 .

When I was not able to install Ubuntu 6.06 LTS from CD so I have installed Ubuntu 6.10 without difficulties.

Closing this bug as invalid as there seems to be no activity for this bug and all related bugs also have been closed. Bug #55318 has been confirmed, which this bug might duplicate. Please feel free to reopen this bug, if this can be confirmed for Ubuntu Hardy 8.04. Thank you.
