Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdebase

Dapper, KDE 3.5.5.

I used krandrtray to resize my desktop from 1600x1200 to 1024x768 while I had two DVDs in the drives and their icons on the desktop. -> The icons disappeared. Resizing back to original size after a while, the icons didn't reappear.

Permanent icons on desktop (only tested with one folder) do not exhibit this behaviour.

Bug 57784 reports a similar issue for Nautilus/Gnome.

I was sceptical before I tried this, but it happens, even in Feisty still.

This is still an issue with the notifier plasmoid in KDE4. If the plasmoid (or any plasmoid) is outside of where the new desktop dimensions would be, it won't display when you resize the screen. The plasmoids re-appear when you change the screen res back though.
