Bug Description

Binary package hint: usb-creator

The usbcreator on Windows fails to detect the iso file if it's placed in a folder, which has non-latin characters in it's name (in my case - cyrillic)

How can this bug be "Expired", "Low", and "Unassigned" while it STILL exists!
I just pulled the last revision from lp:ubuntu/usb-creator, built it, and the bug still exists.
This happens on Windows XP SP3 (NOT on Wine!)
It does not matter what ISO you select. As far as there are non-latin (cyrillic in my case) letters in the folder or filename - it fails.
For me, this is not "Low" Importance. Its "Critical".
And it's easy to fix it. Just use

correct_name = iso_filename.encode(sys.getfilesystemencoding(), 'replace')

Or something like that. I had the same problem with my projects, and fixed it this way.
