Bug Description

Binary package hint: kicker

On Kubuntu Dapper with KDE 3.5.5 there seems to be a problem with kicker. This is the content of ~/.xsession-errors:

QString::arg(): Argument missing: /konqsidebartng/kicker_entries/amarok.desktop, 2480567
QString::arg(): Argument missing: /konqsidebartng/kicker_entries/amarok.desktop, 2480568
QString::arg(): Argument missing: /konqsidebartng/kicker_entries/amarok.desktop, 2480569
QString::arg(): Argument missing: /konqsidebartng/kicker_entries/amarok.desktop, 2480570
[...]
QString::arg(): Argument missing: /konqsidebartng/kicker_entries/amarok.desktop, 43233241
QString::arg(): Argument missing: /konqsidebartng/kicker_entries/amarok.desktop, 43233242
QString::arg(): Argument missing: /konqsidebartng/kicker_entries/amarok.desktop, 43233243

Though it may be a minor bug in Amarok (?) The main problem is, that my /home was filled with a huge file ".xsession-errors". - After 3.2 GB my partition was full. After moving the file to an other partition I had to restart several times until KDE came back again.

Before the crash I was playing with kicker and some panels. This Amarok-file may be wanted by the navigation panel.

Please contact me if you need more details on this problem. I did not try to reproduce it because this is a working installation and not a test-system. Thanks for notice! :-)

Thanks for this report. Do you still have this problem? Those files are logs of errors happened when you start X. So I suggest you to remove these files and adjust the X configuration to avoid errors.

Hello, thanks for caring!

... as I wrote above: This error occured only once. - I reported it because it was a very critical problem for me.
I do not use Dapper on most computers now.

All the best for you!
