Bug Description

First of all i dont know so much about this. i just came here because the installer told me with an message to do so, when he crased shortly for finishing installation, i guess.
Before starting with the installation i build two partitions with the live cd. Then shut down and started again. Then i started installation with the button. It worked well to the point i changed the time because it was one our late. Before i clicked on the button to syncronize it with internet. the timezone was right but the time to late. Then it freezes and after half an our i just turned shut down the laptop because the installer dosent reaced on any command. then started again und everything went well to the point installer told me installation will be started. then shortly before the grafic shows installation is finished it crashed and told me to come here.

Thank you for reporting this bug. It seems we do have enough information to trace it further.

Observations so far: adduser exited with error 6, claiming there is not enough space on the device.

The mount points are:

mountpoints: {'/dev/hda5': ('/home', False, None, None), '/dev/hda4': ('swap', True, None, None), '/dev/hda1': ('/', True, None, None), '/dev/hda3': ('/media/win_c', False, None, None)}

hda5 (used for home) was ext3 and 8GB
hda1 (/) at 4.5GB looks fine as well

stepPartAdvanced was used

It may also be of interest that the user changed the clock during the install.

Changed in ubiquity:
status: Unconfirmed → Confirmed
Changed in ubiquity:
importance: Undecided → Medium
