Bug Description

When compiz is enabled, any keyboard binding to toggle windows to appear on all workspaces does not work. I tried clearing and restoring the shortcut in gnome-keybinding-properties, but that didn't change anything.

hum, I'm quite puzzled about it, in addition to that the keybindings should be imported by subsequent run. Sam, do you have any idea?
Matt, can you gconftool-2 -R /apps/compiz-1 please?

Hey Matt,

Like didier said, the keybindings should be imported on every run - what happens if you change the binding to something else in ccsm? Perhaps F2 is being grabbed by something else?

I looked in ccsm, and the only thing which looks relevant is that the "Extra
WM Actions" plugin shows the key binding (but that plugin is disabled).

I tried toggling it on, and compiz crashed, and the key binding still
doesn't work. I've also lost the ability to switch workspaces, even after
turning the plugin back off.

This is bug 740236

After restarting compiz again, this much is working again.

This is still broken. Can you give me a more specific idea of what
information you're looking for in ccsm? It's not at all obvious.

Hi, Matt. Does this still affect you in Oneiric (11.10)?

Also, how do you get to the shortcut? I can't seem to find where the keybind is for having a window on all workspaces.

It's under Keyboard→ Shortcuts→ Windows→ "Toggle window on all workspaces or
one"

I switched back to metacity, and it seems to work there, but I don't think
it works with compiz.

@Matt, so does this mean that it still affects you on Oneiric?

Also, this shortcut is not to be found on my 11.10 install.

Yes, it does. I have two 11.10 systems, both running metacity. On one, the shortcut works, and on the other, it doesn't.

You don't see the same shortcut in gnome-control-center?

No, sir. See the attached screenshot. The only items not shown (that need to be scrolled down for) are to maximize a window horizontally/vertically.

Could you tell me the default combination value? Is there a default value?

Still a problem in Precise (12.04 B1).

Tried ctrl+alt+a ; ctrl+shift+alt+a; plus some other more random combinations, feature doesn't appear to activate whatever combination I have tried.

Option _is_ available in my keyboard > shortcuts > windows -- settings - see attached.

See comment for useful workaround in mean time.

@chauncellor it appears there for me (now upgraded to Precise). It's right below "resize window" and above "raise window if covered"
