Hi there.
Thank you for taking the time to report bugs and trying to make Ubuntu better.
Could you please try the following:
sudo dpkg-reconfigure dovecot-common
One that's done, do:
sudo apt-get -f install
This should try to reconfigure dovecot-common and once it is done you should be able to install the over dovecot packages. Please let us know the output!
