Bug Description

Lucid 10.4 currently ships with the Nvidia 173.14.22 driver. However, while this version of the driver works OK with a single screen, it fails when operating in Dual Screen mode. Installing the more recent 173.14.28 driver fixes the problem.

My configuration is a two card two monitor setup, with an Nvidia 6800 card (PCI-E) and an Nvidia FX5200 (PCI). The system is configured with a single X Server running two screens. This setup works fine with 9.10 and the Nvidia 173 driver. However, on upgrading to 10.4, the X Server always crashes when both screens are enabled. It only works when a single screen is configured.

Upgrading the Nvidia driver to 173.14.28 fixes the problem. Clearly this driver needs to be backported to 10.4.
