Bug Description
If, for example, you took an screenshot of your desktop, and want to crop it to leave only a window (using "Crop to selection" tool), the zoom is not automatically increased to fit the window and improve visibility.

This is somewhat related to bug #851378, where the Zoom to Window setting doesn't adjust for the new image size.
