Random screen flickering with nvidia beta 270.30.
I am not sure if its an upstream nvidia bug or xorg related.

I get the same thing using 270.30 and an nvidia 8600 card. It always seems to be is set off by some user-initiated action (eg last time it happened I had just clicked on the checkbox to turn windows previews on in compiz). It is certainly very annoying because you can't do anything until it decides to stop - and it can go on for more than 30 seconds.
There's a thread/bug report started about it at the nvidia forums http:// www.nvnews. net/vbulletin/ showthread. php?p=2414323 but nvidia don't seem to be very responsive to bug reports these days.
