Same issue for me. Error message : "Cannot authenticate user : Invalid query". It used to work very well before testing Natty.

Can you please quit evolution and, on a terminal, run the following:

$ killall -9 e-addressbook-factory
$ /usr/lib/evolution/e-addressbook-factory

then open Evolution and try using contacts. When it fails, please paste all the output in the terminal to this bug

I followed these steps and did not see any relavent output when the errors occured. Perhaps there is some debug flag required? Both the addressbook-factory and evolution terminal output is attached in a single file; I obfuscated my email addresses.

My setup is for contacts via my google account . In addition to the error above, I also see this message in the GUI.

This address book cannot be opened. This either means that an incorrect URI was entered, or the server is unreachable.
Detailed error message: Invalid source

I think I largely got Google contacts to work again (see bug 720434 and the branch attached to it). It would be good to see if there are any issues specific to Ubuntu One contacts though.

I tried this patch without success though it did improve things slightly. My comments with a screenshot of my limited success are over on bug 720434 as this appears to be a duplicate in respect to the Google Contacts.

Hi Guys,
Last night's patches fixed Google contacts for me.
Still having trouble with Ubuntu One, but will delete/reset everything and

Thanks... db

For ubuntu one contacts, please have a look at the debugging instructions at https://bugs.launchpad.net/evolution-couchdb/+bug/727370

After reviewing my debug output, my problem seems to occur now as a result of simply having an enormous amount of contact data. I consistently have a first error as "Timeout Reached". As such I have opened a separate issue to track this specifically.

Bug 755043 includes my debug output from e-addressbook-factory and related screenshots in support of this. After the initial failure it is quite easy for me to then arrive at the symptoms and GUI output described here, which is why I initially thought this was my issue.
