Bug Description

Scan from ADF is currently not supported for HP Officejet Pro 8500 A910a. This information is mentioned in known issues of HPLIP-3.10.9 release in which the device is supported. http://hplipopensource.com/node/346

On 2011-03-11 Yash said: We are working for the ADF scan support in the device and ADF scan feature will be available soon. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

We're now on 3.11.3a and there seems not to be any bugs corresponding to this "issue".

Despite upgrading to 3.11.3a, ADF scan is still not available on HP Officejet Pro 8500 A910a.

Please install the latest hplip-3.11.5. You can find the same at http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/gethplip.html. ADF scan support is provided in hplip-3.11.5 release. Let us know on the same.
