Bug Description

The Gnome 3 Desktop has its own notification system, that working quite well, but unfortunatly there still are dependencys set for gnome-power-manager and ugr-desktop-g3 package, that force me to keep Notify-OSD installed. Its beeing active when using the hardware volume keys on my notebook, while the displaybrightness prompts the gnome3 notification

I see. I based the dependency list for ugr on the one in Ubuntu, and didn't remember this. Please list all packages related to this that need to be removed and I will take them off the list.

when trying to remove notifyOSD, apt-get wants to remove
"gnome-power-manager notify-osd ugr-desktop-g3 update-notifier" not sure if the gnome-power-manager is a gnome3 package, update-notifier removal should not harm at all

... okay, can now say, the gnome-power-manager is a gnome3 package, don't ask me, why it has a dependency on notifyOSD ...

It looks like there are actually two things going on that are causing problems:
-Ugr-meta still probably lists notify-osd as a dependency
-GNOME 3 packages still list notify-osd by mistake

What are all packages that are part of notify-osd? I will fix ugr-meta, and submit fixes to the GNOME 3 team.

I have removed notify-osd from ugr's dependency list in dev channel (effective in about 30 minutes). Try again and see what happens.

The update has been in main for a while now. Does this bug still exist?

This bug cannot be fixed by us. gnome-power-manager depends on notification-daemon, which is provided by notify-osd.
