Bug Description
Binary package hint: ubiquity
When using the new partitioner, it allows you to press "Next" and "Install" without having selected a root partition. The install begins, reaching 15% (detecting file systems), which takes a moment. As partitioning begins, it finally reports the lack of a root partition. This should be detected before the install is begun. Also, the partitioner might have a reminder like "you need to have a root partition of at least X GB and a swap partition of at least Y MB"

Yep - validation doesn't work properly in the new partitioner yet, mostly because partman's own validation scripts are in the wrong place. They need to be moved.
