Bug Description

In the new icon for the Device indicator, it looks like the cog is an emblem of the power icon. Please replace the icon with something more contained. Please use provided icon. The new icon is similar to what previously released but stylistically more inline with the rest of the UI.

Christian: just to confirm; this is the third iteration of the design and effectively reverts the second version uploaded in bug #833790 ?

@Paul, we need to update various screenshots, can't this be done earlier?

Setting back to New as the UIFe hasn't been granted yet. Documentation team, is it ok to make this change at this point? Fine with my release team hat on, but deferring to doc team.

Screenshots showing the top-right hand corner of the screen. There are three cropped screenshots side-by-side, showing the "power-cog"/'system-devices-panel' icon for each of:

ubuntu-mono 0.0.31 (previous, similar to proposed)
  ubuntu-mono 0.0.33 (current)
  ubuntu-mono 0.0.34 (proposed)

I just wanted to stress the importance of this icon (change) :)

Thanks!

+1 from the Docs Team. This requires screenshots to be updated (which needs to be done anyway) and a simple switch of the icon on the indicator page in the Ubuntu Desktop Guide which I can do.

This bug was fixed in the package ubuntu-mono - 0.0.34

---------------
ubuntu-mono (0.0.34) oneiric; urgency=low

  [Christian Giordan/Xi Zhu]
  * Revert "power-cog" to combined design (System-Devices indicator)
    {dark,light}/…/system-devices-panel{,-alert,-warming} (LP: #844049)

  [Xi Zhu/Paul Sladen]
  * Enlarge percent coverage for '*/user-desktop.svg' (LP: #841885)

  [Paul Sladen]
  * Try to workaround a bug in rsvg that leaves a black border, by
instead making the wallpaper element of 'user-desktop' larger.
