Bug Description

Binary package hint: kmail

I am using a US English KDE (Locale: Netherlands), but kmail displays the type of .tar.gz files as 'Archive tar compactée par Gzip', which is a French description.

Can not confirm this. The message is probably coming from kdelibs' mime database. Are you still seeing this?

French descriptions for archives are reported in bug 87938.
I can't find where this is displayed in kmail, but I think anywhere the french description appears is probably caused by the same error.

That might be right, I also have these french descriptions for some konqueror file associations (application/x-tar, x-tarz, x-tbz, x-tgz)
