Bug Description
I recently discovered that I could not update VMWare Player - the phase of the uninstall that stops the existing services would hang and eventually the whole system would require a power reset. System would also hang on shutdown under normal operation.
Uninstalling cgroup-bin & libcgroup1 fixes both these issues.
I have set up cgroups on my 10.04 system as per: http://

Hi
I've been looking at cgroup bugs and I suspect that you have a multicore/ hypterthreaded system which is experiencing a symptom of https:/ /bugs.launchpad .net/ubuntu/ +source/ libcgroup/ +bug/693594 could you try giving the default group some realtime priority (e.g echo 950000 | sudo tee /sys/fs/ cgroup/ cpu/sysdefault/ cpu.rt_ runtime_ us ) and then seeing if you still have the problem?
Thanks
