This bug seems to be considerably common with a few duplicate bugs and I have received the same error.

Sometimes when I startup my laptop, Compaq EVO N400C, I get the error artsd crashed with SIGEGV.

Using Kubuntu 7.04 and this is repeatable for me.

Scott

Scott? I feel there was not enough information to mark bugs as duplicates.
None of them happens at the same address.
And for me, trying to use apport-retrace, was useless on arts crashes.
See http://lwn.net/Articles/201302/ for more information about apport-retrace.

I'm sorry. I noticed they all had the same titles and affected programs
, so, I thought they would be grouped together. I will take a look at
the article, thanks.

Having similar errors on Sony Vaio PCG-8P1M - is not regular, although the laptop is newly Ubuntu'd and has previously only run Windows XP.

A KDE crash handler report has also been submitted.

Sound continues to operate.
