Rescue partitioner fails with RAID volumes active

Bug Description

The rescue CD fails on systems where the root partition is a RAID device; see bug #33871. When exiting the 'choose a partition to mount' menu and choosing to install GRUB or LILO, this starts the partitioner which then fails because it can't stat something like /dev/md/1. Therefore the partitioner and GRUB/LILO install options are useless when the rescue CD is used on a system with / on a RAID volume.

I noticed this as well. Perhaps solved by creating symlinks a la "mkdir /dev/md" and "ln -s /dev/md1 /dev/md/1" ?

Note that the presence of the partitioner in rescue mode is largely accidental and it isn't particularly meant to work. Still, attaching /var/log/syslog and /var/log/partman to this bug would help diagnose it.

Changed in rescue:
importance: Undecided → Low
status: Unconfirmed → Needs Info
