Keyboard starts running slowly after CD insertion pop-up

Bug Description

On a Mac Intel Pro, a sporadic bug (about once a week) happens where Gnome will display a CD inserted dialog box out of the blue. I have not inserted a CD. Immediately afterwards, the keyboard starts running extremely slow and misses 50% of the key presses. All of the other devices seem to work correctly (mouse, etc). I have to reboot to regain keyboard functionality. I have tried unplugging and plugging in the keyboard. That does not help.

The Gnome dialog box says "The CD in the drive contains both music and files. Would you like listen to music or browse the files?". It doesn't matter which button you click, the same keyboard issues still happen.
