Bug Description

I recently installed ubuntu 11.10.

In my computer I had two harddrives:
1. 60 GB SATA3 SSD with Windows 7
2. 1TB SATA2 ordinary harddrive empty

When I chose install alongside Windows, only option 2 was selectable in dropdown menu, so I had to disconnect it and reboot to be able to select option 1. Both were selectable in advanced option though so it's that the computer didn't recognize the SSD disc the first time around.

I noticed this when attempting iso testing with Lucid-10.04.4

I have two internal drives, and the option was only to install to /dev/sda, which isn't the one I wanted to use, since it's my main working drive.

In my case, they are both SATA 2 ordinary drives.

Please can i ask that those affected attempt to test on the current 10.04.3 image so we can confirm if this is a regression..

Thanks.

Would it be possible for you to check this on the 10.04.3 images? (http://releases.ubuntu.com/lucid/)

I. e. is this a regression since 10.04.3, or has this bug existed all the time in 10.04 LTS?

Thanks!

I'm getting the same behaviour from a 10.04.3 image.

I've attached a screenshot. This is exactly what I was seeing in the 10.04.4 testing iso.

Both drives are visible in the window, but I don't see any way to choose which one to use.

Thanks for confirming! So this is at least not a regression.
