Bug Description

[Installation: Edgy and Feisty (herd4 w.dist-upgrade)]

I installed two external ppd files via the cups gui (control centre) and I can not print to these installed printers.

This happend to the original ppd from Epson (AL CX 11 NF) and KonicaMinolta bizhub C252(P)) downloaded from their printer driver support page. It seems it is just the surface of a bigger cups problem with imported ppd files.

Can you check the PPD files with

cupstestppd <ppd file>

and post the output here?

If this test gives "FAIL" CUPS does not accept the PPD file, as it does not comply with Adobe's PPD specs. Many manufacturer-supplied PPDs for Windows fail the test.
