Wammu works after I added some wx* and python-wx* packages -- sorry, I cannot remember which ones. (Wouldn't it be nice, if synaptic had an option "display recently installed packages"?)

I also have this error in Intrepid dev.

I have all the available wx packages in Synaptic installed.

After installing python-wxgtk2.8 (which removes python-wxgtk2.6), everthing works fine, at least on my machine.

I can confirm that installing python-wxgtk2.8 solves the crashes, removal of 2.6 is not required.
so I recommend that this is set as a dependency.
