Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdebase

I permit myself to copy bug description from http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions//showthread.php?t=526849

I have exactly the same problem with i810 driver and things work with another windows manager (xfce one).

I have recently installed kubuntu 6.10 on a HP nx6320 laptop. I have setup xinerama to use an external monitor as an extension of the desktop (I have successfully set this up before on gentoo on other hardware)

I am running a kde desktop and have both screens active. I can move a window from the primary to the secondary screen but the window seems to hit a barrier part way across the other screen. The mouse can be moved to the far side of the other screen, but not the window.

If I maximize the window when it is mostly on the secondary screen it then fills the screen and seems to work OK.

Another thing is that the other screen's background (which is just set to a solid colour) gets erased to black as the window is moved over it.

If I run X and ktwm it all seems to work fine so this looks like a KDE problem.

I have seen a few reports of similar problems on the net but have yet to see an answer to the problem. Any one have any ideas about this?

Thank you for filing this bug.
If you are still running this configuration, could you please check if you still have this problem with Hardy and KDE 3.5.9 and with KDE 4?

Sorry, i don't use this laptop anymore so i can't confirm. I think after that i'd used another driver, fbdev i think.
Thanks for asking anyway :)
