Thank you for reporting this issue. This will normally be fixed after the beta images are tested. However, it does apply to Ubuntu and and all derivatives. This bug report allows all the slideshows to become updated before the final release.

Changed in ubiquity (Ubuntu):
importance: Undecided → Medium
status: New → Triaged

Figured as much. Didn't want it to get missed, though. Thanks, Charlie.

Oops, this is looking too one-sided. Sorry about that! I'm going to
commit some updated copy for Ubuntu by January 16 :)

This sort of thing can be confusing, I download and installed a 12.04 daily build to start testing and then glanced at the install screen as it was proceeding and saw the "11.10" string - I first thought that I had selected the wrong ISO to install and was about to abort the whole process before deciding to let it run and see what version actually booted up.

While this sort of thing may seem trivial to those who are deeply involved in the project of creating a new release, for others who come in as testers - especially those new to the process - it may well end up causing frustration and therefore discourage them from continuing in the bug discovery and reporting process that improves the quality of the eventual release.
