Bug Description

Binary package hint: adept

Feisty Herd 5
Did initial install.
After first boot, clicked on the Adept "update" icon in lower right.
Clicked "get list of updates".
Clicked "install updates".
A message box pops up that says "Incorrect nice value. Please enter an integer between -20 and 19"
The message box has a button labeled "Next" that doesn't appear to do anything.
Pressing the cancel button on the message box brings up another message box that says "There was an error commiting changes. Possibly there was a problem downloading some packages or the commit would break packages."
Pressing "OK" on that message box ends the update, with no packages updated.
Repeating the process has the same results.

Well, I made it a dup of bug #68267, because I have already suggest
a possible fix for this bug there.

But indeed 85979 is the same.
