nb to self and others; filed the issue that 'lo-menubar' is not installed as bug #912567 ("Seed 'lo-menubar' integration when Libreoffice is seeded").

Unassigning/dropping milestone. lo-menubar is unmaintained and in universe, and not installed by default. Nobody updated it for LibreOffice 3.5 yet. I heard that the DX team is hiring a contractor to implement it properly, and make it work for 3.5, though, so there is hope.

that seems to work in quantal with the libreoffice integrated menus implementation, closing as fixed for libreoffice and settting the lo-menubar bug as invalid since that's deprecated in quantal where the feature is integrated to libreoffice

Does this mean that there's no hope of a fix in Precise, despite its LTS status?

LTS or not LTS has nothing to do, there is a reason lo-menubar is not installed by default in precise and lives in universe, it was considered as beta code and not ready to be used by everyone nor to be supported, that's not likely to change in precise no

LibreOffice 3.6 and later has an internal unity integration and thus does not need lo-menubar anymore.
