Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

This is a 2.8GHz celeron D desktop computer.

Since Feisty, the popup menu to select sleep type has disappeared, so I used the Configuration Editor to set sleep type.

Consequently, I have set the action_ac_sleep_type to hibernate. But the computer still does a suspend when idle.

By the way, I would appreciate if you could put the popup to choose sleep type back into the preferences.

Please tell me if you need more information.

Thanks for your report. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release?

Thank you,

Iulian

I have not anymore used that function for a long time.

But, I just tried again with the current hardy development release and if I understand it correctly, the log indicates that the computer went into hibernation:

Feb 21 18:54:06 UbuntuDesktop gnome-power-manager: (frafu) Hibernating computer. Reason: System idle.
Feb 21 18:54:07 UbuntuDesktop NetworkManager: <info> Going to sleep.
