Bug Description

Viewing the unity-video-lens works fine for me. But when i click on "My videos" to show all 1661 files unity starts to freeze and crashes after some mintues.

I guess the dash is not able to show so many elements at once. This should be fixed somehow as it can easily be clicked and makes the whole desktop unuseable..

I just tried with revision 58 from your PPA but the behaviour didn't change :/

Now, the lens shouldn't try to display more than 100 videos. Which is something that Unity should be able to handle even on very small configurations.

If it persists, please do the following
- remove the ~/.cache/unity-lens-video folder
- open the lens
- tell me how many results are displayed in My Videos

Well i did a compiz --replace. Yeah the cache-folder containte >600 items. Removing it actually made the issue go away. So thank you very much.

It now says "see 94 more results" which makes it exactly 100 items as you said. However this is just a workaround for unity performance issue is it? Should i report it on untiy itself?

Compiz --replace is usually not enough for lenses, as their daemon needs to be restarted too. But if it works now, that's fine :)

Yes, it's a workaround. I think there are already a few bugs reported on Unity for this.
