Bug Description
Why should we need to download a new cd everytime there is a new Ubuntu release. For me it's not really a problem, but it would be convenient to use the same cd over and over again. And for new users or users getting their CD from a magazine or book it may be of great impotence, they might not even know that they don't got the latest and greatest. My proposal is that if a network connection is detected when launching the liveCD installer, it checks wheter this CD contains the latest Ubuntu release. If not, it could present the uses with a dialog like this:
WARNING
The CD you are installing from is outdated. It is
recommendet to use the latest release of
Ubuntu, do you want to automaticly download
and install the latest vesion of Ubuntu? This
requires installing from the net and it may take
longer time than installing from the CD
depending on your internet connection.
[ Yes, install latest Ubuntu ] [ No, use this CD ]
I they answer yes, then just download the latest installer script and do a network install using it.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Do still need answer for your suggestion above?
I have a personal reason, there is so many people that don't have a good internet connection to download latest version. So shipit.ubuntu.com will still better. May be you can try to go to https:/ /wiki.ubuntu. com/Brainstorm ;).
Reply please.
