Bug Description

In Kubuntu Feisty Beta release, when using System Settings -> Monitor & Display, After selecting Configure and then accepting the detected graphics card (select button), the Test button which is supposed (as far as I can tell) to test the selected option before applying it, shows a black&white pattern screen with an X for a cursor, and that's it. There's no way to tell what I'm supposed to be looking at, whether it means the test worked or not, or any other info. The mouse and keyboard are unresponsive as well. By a fluke I tried hitting Ctrl-Alt-Backspace which returned back to the desktop, but this is not documented anywhere near the Test button/screen and if I hadn't stumbled upon it the only way out would be a hard reboot. Even once I manage to get back to the desktop this way, I still can't tell if this means the new configuration is good or not, and whether I should apply it or reset to the defaults.

The test button should inform the user what's going to happen, how to determine if the test works or fails, and how to cancel the test and return to the desktop. The test screen itself should contain some sort of... test.

Just to confirm that this is my experience with the release version of feisty as well. The only way that I could get back was find a console prompt via ctrl-F1, and kill the test guidance process ... not very tidy.
