No, if I try to reproduce it, i don't get the same error. I did:
- search a wallpaper on kde-look.org
- click "download"
- right click and "Save as..."
- it appears the desktop integred dialog for the save, with the extension set to ".php" and the filename to "download.php"
- change the extension to "Any file (*)"
- change the filename to XXX.jpg
- click save
- then firefox didn't answer anymore

(sorry for my bad english)
