Bug Description

I've just purchased a new Sony Reader Wi-Fi (PRS-T1). It syncs beautifully via Calibre on my Windows laptop. However, Calibre on my Ubuntu 11.10 desktop does not even pick it up. I've done a little research and it seems all that needs to happen to get everything working is for the Calibre package in Ubuntu to update to the latest version. Please push a newer version of Calibre to Ubuntu 11.10. Based on Calibre's change log, we need at least 0.8.22 although 0.8.23 and 0.8.26 added some bug fixes for the Sony T1. Thanks.

1. Ubuntu release: 11.10
2. Package version: 0.8.8+dfsg-1ubuntu1
3. Expected: Sync Calibre with Sony Reader Wi-Fi (PRS-T1)
4. Happened instead: Calibre does not detect Sony Reader Wi-Fi (PRS-T1)

Testing:
========
Mark off items in the checklist [X] as you test them, but please leave the checklist so that backporters can quickly evaluate the state of testing.

Test packages uploaded to ppa:micahg/ppa and should be available in a couple hours.

* oneiric:
[X] Package builds without modification
[ ] calibre installs cleanly and runs
[ ] calibre-bin installs cleanly and runs

Reverse dependencies:
=====================
The following reverse-dependencies need to be tested against the new version of calibre. For reverse-build-dependencies (-Indep), please test that the package still builds against the new calibre. For reverse-dependencies, please test that the version of the package currently in the release still works with the new calibre installed. Reverse- Recommends, Suggests, and Enhances don't need to be tested, and are listed for completeness-sake.

Since we are past Feature Freeze and well on our way to release this will be unlikely to be pursued during this cycle although I will get this tagged as wishlist.

Hi,

I backported calibre for personal use in my own ppa (ppa:fabricesp/ppa), and it has been working fine since then. No issues found.

Thanks,
Fabrice

This is marked at Fix Released, but I don't see it in apt-get yet. Is there a step between Fix Released and it showing up as an update? Am I just waiting for it to replicate to mirrors?

Yes. It can take slightly longer than 6 hours :-)

This never has shown up for me. Is there something I need to do to get backports?
