Bug Description

Whoops, I meant to say that it says x86_64, not amd64.

Does this affect the user-agent and Google.com/Gmail at all by saying this? I can see that it says x86_64 as well, but I don't think it matters much at all unless it is causing an issue, and I don't believe it does. So for that, I will put this as a wishlist bug for the time being unless of course it causes issues. If it doesn't cause issues, this report stands a good chance of being closed. Thanks.

An issue is that the user-agent that comes with konqueror for firefox 1.5.0.4 says i686 and so when trying to edit the entry the user-agent box is blank which is confusing and misleading.

It may also cause issues on google's end if they are keeping track of what architectures people are using, as the kubuntu 7.04 entries will all have a false architecture.

Also, it may cause issues if/when google start releasing 64-bit versions of applications like Google Earth, Picasa, etc. As they will no doubt look to the architecture in the user-agent as a hint to what sort of machine the user is running. Which will lead to users downloading versions that won't run on their machines.

With Konqueror 3.5.9 on my Hardy i386 box, the user agent string (all options turned on) when visiting gmail.google.com is:
Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Konqueror/3.5; Linux 2.6.24-19-generic; X11; i686; en_GB) KHTML/3.5.9 (like Gecko) (Kubuntu package 4:3.5.9-0ubuntu7.1)
So this bug seems to have been fixed.
