The Community Wireless Manager (CWM) aims to provide a simple, secure and easy to use solution for providing community wireless internet access based on the WiFiDog captive portal software from Iles Sans Fil.
As a solution for 'self-registration' wireless internet access WiFiDog is an excellent piece of software. CWM aims to build upon the solid foundations of WiFiDog to produce software more suited to organisational internet provision.
CWM will build on security, user management (banning/limiting accounts) and removing self registration to offer more control over who accesses an organisation's internet connection. This will make it more suited to areas such as libraries, schools, universities and anywhere needing tighter control over internet access.
