Bug Description

I think the problem may have come from an update. My [smartmedia, compactflash,
MMC/SD, MS/MS PRO] combocard reader was working fine until one of the updates
was added. Now it will no longer automount.

There isn't much that we can do unless you can narrow the possibilities

Same issue here -- was originally related to ehci_hcd for me, and now it has reared its ugly head again. I filed a new bug under hotplug, however I fear it is probably the wrong package.

Hi,

I use a HP Compaq nw9440 laptop with an integrated 7-1 combocard reader (SD.MS/Pro.MMC.SW.XD).
The hardware is recognized as "MMC/SD Host Adapter" from Texas Instruments.
The problem is that when I insert a Sony Memory Stick, this is not mounted. No reactions from the PC.

Here some infos about my PC:
==================
- Intel Centrino Duo
- nVidia Quadro FX 1500M
- 2GB RAM
- 80GB HD
- Ubuntu Dapper 6.06 LTS

Edgy Knot 1 on compaq nc8230, it doesn't mount or show up in /dev. No response at all in dmesg. It worked fine on Dapper, so it's possibly a kernel problem in Edgy (lacking support for internal sd card reader?).

When I insert my pcmcia Compact Flash reader into its slot, I see oops
from the kernel in the syslog. So, yes I think that the module
involved in the communication with the device is somehow broken.

If needed, I can give the relevant part of the syslog.

Hi there,

in kubuntu edgy the problem still exists.
I have a HP nc8430 and when I insert an SD (in the internal SD-SC reader) I get only:
[ 9941.306307] tifm_7xx1: sd card detected in socket 1

When I unplug the SD:
[ 9947.039818] tifm_7xx1: demand removing card from socket 1

I cannot see any other visible sign of life.

Hope this helps.
Bye
Piero

I have just downloaded the LiveCD Feisty Herd3 for testing, and I can say you that this problem is still present.
I know, Herd 3 is only a development release, but I think is good to signal every issue in time.
