Please report only one issue per bug report, and provide full details of what went wrong in each case. "Problem in Sleep" and "Problem in Hibernate" tell us that there is a problem, but not what the problem is.

Hi Chistian,

Thanks for your bug report(s!). Unfortunately there are too many different parts in this report (8 in total I think) and it's not possible to follow them up in one go without getting confused.

Could you help by filing a separate bug report for each item. The packages for the reports are:

  acpi-support for the brightness keys
acpi-support for the wirelss card button
acpi-support for the 'lid.sh' and an good description of what is happening that shouldn't be (or the other way around)
  gnome-power-manager for the sleep issue
  acpi-support for the hibernate

Can you include a short section (just the relevant part - and you can get this by checking the timestamps) of '/var/log/acpid' for when you do each action.

In the case of the gnome-power-manager issue, please give a paste/log from:

  lshal -m

I'm going to close this bug now so that we don't get confused and it still being open aswell as the individual problems/issues.

The fact that keys don't produce keycodes isn't a bug - it's certainly not a bug in acpi-support. HP hardware simply doesn't provide any form of OS notification when some keys are pressed. The lid.sh issue is cosmetic and shouldn't prevent anything from working.
