Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

Installed Ubuntu this morning.

Downloaded from the following link.

http://fr.releases.ubuntu.com/6.10/ubuntu-6.10-rc-desktop-i386.iso

On testing we found problem with rendering Tamil Scripts in Firefox.

We have attached the screen shot herewith.

Please fix this before Edgy is released on Oct 26.

We could solve this problem by giving the following command terminal as suggested by one of our Group member.

export MOZ_DISABLE_PANGO=0

Is this option could be included in boot up, then we think this Tamil rendering problem is fixed.

Please take it asap.

Thank you for the bug report. However I am unable to reproduce this issue. We are now going to close this report - please feel free to reopen when you have more information at hand.

Please test with an updated edgy firefox. most of the pango issues were worked out in edgy i believe this was one of them. I cant reproduce this on up-to-date edgy nor feisty.
