Bug Description

Nautilus has a "volumes_visable" setting in GConf but when enabled it also shows all network volumes. This can be excessive. It would be nice to add a setting "network_volumes_visable".

With this one could still see usb drives, cd's etc that are mounted but not be overridden with many network volumes. In a work setting it can get rediculous.

In Edgy, behaviour has changed. When mounting on /mnt, icons etc. do not appear, even when it's indicated in Nautilus settings (show volumes). When mounting on /media, icons appear. This is changed from Dapper, because in Dapper it doesn't matter if you're mounting to /mnt or /media, icons ALWAYS appears. With this new behaviour, you can to circumvent the problem (without an extra Nautilus setting), just mount the volumes to /mnt if you don't want to appear them on the desktop.

See: "Volume mount not visible" https://launchpad.net/bugs/68944
