Bug Description

Binary package hint: python-psycopg2

This dependency was fixed in the debian version, but not yet in edgy. You can't use psycopg2 without the package, and on a clean install (rc version, all updates) it is not installed by default.

Found the debian reference by using google on the following mailinglist message:

Edgy has python-psycopg2 (2.0.5.1-1) which doesn't depend upon python-egenix-mxdatetime

Edgy does have python-egenix-mxdatetime (2.0.6ubuntu1-1ubuntu5) but as it's not a dependency python-psycopg2 won't install this by default.

This is a debian bug http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=389636 which was fixed in release 2.0.5.1-2 which is dated 3 October 2006.

Changelog from 2.0.5.1-1 to 2.0.5.1-2:

 psycopg2 (2.0.5.1-2) unstable; urgency=low

   * debian/control: added again a dependency on python-egenix-mxdatetime.

This bug means that psycopg2 doesn't work in edgy and is fixed by syncing from Debian. The updated version only includes a fix for this bug which is to add a dependency on python-egenix-mxdatetime.

Requesting approval from the motu stable releases update team for Edgy.

Hi,

I'm unsubscribing motu-sru for now, because there is still missing info for an sru-request. Please resubscribe us (or preferable file a separate bug and subscribe motu-sru there) if you have the necessary info that we can consider it.

Cheers,
    Stefan.
